This is a remarkable achievement.
Not the flipbook itself, but the images you see. These are part
of a growing body of work by a man of great determination and
discipline, Jan Karel Lameer, of the Netherlands. Using nothing
more than a Nikon camera and a sturdy tripod, he ventures out
into the cold, dark nights of the upper latitudes, waiting, watching
and painstakingly photographing the movements of the northern
lights. The 5 x 5½ inch book consists of two full-color
60 frame sequences (printed back to back). Each sequence shows
a unique and stunning depiction of the dramatic color effects
and movement over time of aurora borealis. |
